Dear Dr David Sergeenko, Minister,

In May 2017 the Parliament of Georgia endorsed an advanced tobacco-control law and at that occasion the WHO delegation (Kristina Mauer Stender, Andrew Black) has met you and committed to provide assistance to the Georgian authorities at implementing the law and to regularly inform you about the progress and ongoing work.

From 10-12 October 2017 there will be a Multisectoral workshop for Newly Independent States (NIS) Parties to the WHO FCTC to promote entry into force of the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products, in Tbilisi, Georgia. For that occasion (among others) Kristina Mauer Stender and Andrew Black will be in Tbilisi.

Additionally to the international workshop on illicit trade we plan to have several Georgia specific meetings and workshops, among others:

-          Meeting of National and International Partners (in the Parliament od Georgia)

-          FCTC 2030 meeting with NCDC

-          Meeting/Workshop with Officials of the Ministry of Finance

-          Workshop with Police high officials

Please, let us know if you would be interested to meet Kristina Mauer Stender and Andrew Black while they are in Tbilisi. Some of the workshops will also be attended by the representatives of your ministry.

Best regards,

Marijan Ivanusa
