Subject: Decentralization of Care and Treatment in HR

Dear Dr. Sergeenko,

I hope this communication finds you well.  I am writing in anticipation of the upcoming Spring Workshop where a major theme this year will be on decentralization of care and treatment services, both in primary care centers and harm reduction centers.  I am specifically writing in support of a proposal by Dr. Maia Butsashvilli presented to the Scientific Committee that we feel will really help in getting the program going in HR centers by conducting a pilot; I have attached a formal letter of endorsement from the SC. Of course this work needs the approval/support from you.  Please let us know if you have any questions and also Dr. Butsashvilli is more than willing to address any question or concerns.

On a related topic, it would be great if it were possible to convene a meeting of the Decentralization WG you are chairing before the Workshop, and allow for a report back/update during the workshop for all participants to hear.   I cc Irina who can assist in coordinating the meeting, if you desire.

I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks, and hope we have some time to meet as well to discuss opportunities and challenges for the program going into 2018.

Best regards, FA
