Installing/Removing Dictionaries

1. Operating system: Symbian OS v. 7/8/9 (series 60 platform), Symbian OS v. 7 (uiq 2.1 platform).
2. Memory:

• 1 MB in main memory to store program files and for normal program operation
• 9-250 on a memory card to store dictionaries

3. Software for smartphone synchronization (provided with the delivery kit).

We recommend using software for smartphone synchronization supplied with your smartphone.

To install ABBYY Lingvo 12 Smartphone for Symbian OS™ on your smartphone:

1. Place the  ABBYY Lingvo CD-ROM sinto the CD-ROM drive of your desktop PC;
2. Run software for smartphone synchronization and make sure that the smartphone is communicating with the desktop PC;
3. Use the Installing applications module to install the lingvo_s60.sis file, located in the Series 60 Platform folder on Disk1/2;
4. Follow the instructions of the setup program;
5. Use the File transfer module to copy the desired dictionaries from the Disk1/2\ABBYY Lingvo\Dic folder into the ABBYY Lingvo\Dic folder on a memory card.

To install ABBYY Lingvo 12 Smartphone for Symbian OS™ without using software for smartphone synchronization:

1. Copy the lingvo_s60.sis file from the Series 60 Platform folder on Disk1/2 onto a memory card by using a Card Reader device or third-party applications;
2. Use the same method to copy the desired dictionaries from the Disk1/2\ABBYY Lingvo\Dic folder into the ABBYY Lingvo\Dic folder on the memory card;
3. In the File Manager of your mobile phone, browse to the  lingvo_s60.sis file on the memory card and run this file;
4. Follow the instructions of the setup program.
    

To run ABBYY Lingvo 12 Smartphone for Symbian OS:

1. Press the menu button on your phone;
2. In the main menu that opens, select ABBYY Lingvo and then press the centre of the navigation key to confirm your choice.

Removing the Program

To remove ABBYY Lingvo 12 Smartphone for Symbian OS from your smartphone:

1. Run the App. manager on your phone (main menu>Tools>App. manager);
2. In the list of available applications, select Lingvo and then select Options>Delete;
3. In the File Manager of your mobile phone, browse to the ABBYY Lingvo\Dic folder where you installed the dictionaries and remove the dictionary files by selecting Options>File>Delete.

We recommend using software for smartphone synchronization supplied with your smartphone. To install ABBYY Lingvo 12 Smartphone for Symbian OS™ dictionaries on your smartphone:

1. Place the  ABBYY Lingvo CD-ROM (Disk1/2) into the CD-ROM drive of your desktop PC;
2. Run software for smartphone synchronization and make sure that the smartphone is communicating with the desktop PC;
3. Use the File transfer module to copy the desired dictionaries from the Disk1/2\ABBYY Lingvo\Dic folder into the ABBYY Lingvo\Dic folder on a memory card.

Note:

• Alternatively, you can copy dictionary files in to the ABBYY Lingvo\Dic on a memory card by using a Card Reader device or third-party applications.
• For optimal performance we recommend that you do not install more than 4 dictionaries.

To remove dictionaries from a memory card:

1. In the File Manager of your mobile phone, browse to the ABBYY Lingvo\Dic folder where you installed the dictionaries;
2. Remove the dictionary files by selecting Options>File>Delete.
