Dear Deputy Minister,
how was the visit in Italy? Guess that with Health Ministry and Cancer alliance was just a preliminary conversation. Nothing to sign, for the moment, right?
In fact, I ‘m glad to confirm that on July 16-17 we will receive a historic visit, the first of an Italian President since Georgia’s independence. President Mattarella will be accompanied by our Foreign Minister, Enzo Moavero Milanesi. The Vice Minister for Economic Development. Michele Geraci, will preside over a business forum scheduled on July 17 in the framework of the visit.
On that occasion, a Mou between NCDC and Istituto Superiore di Sanità will be signed.
I wanted to flag two appointments for July 17. From 17:10 to 17:45 President Mattarella will be a TSU to give a speech on Italy-Georgia a history of friendship.
We will officially announce the visit next week. So we haven’t sent invitations yet. But for that TSU public speech, I would like to count on your presence as well as on the engagement of students and teachers of Tsiskari and Tsiskari community (we will need a list of their names, if their presence is sure), those who will be in town, of course.
Also, We are organizing a dinner (7-8-30 pm at the Funicular). It will be formally hosted by Mayor Kaladze and include, along with the official delegation, a select group of people that over the years have crafted the friendship and cooperation between our two countries. Therefore I would like to anticipate an invitation for that occasion, that you will receive later. But I hope you can save that date, July 17.
Looking forward to your updates, best
Antonio

Dear Ambassador,
Thank you very much for your mail and information provision. The proposed date and time is convenient for us and also meeting with director general of Alliance against Cancer at the same time. We will greatly appreciate if you could arrange a site visit at any mental health facility in Rome or nearby. Unfortunately we will not be able to visit CNAO in Pavia this time, but hope next time will be possible.
Thank you once again for your support and attention.
Sincerely,
Maia Lagvilava, MD, MHA

Subject: VISIT in ITALY
Dear Vice Minister, Dear Maia
We arranged an appointment on June 19 at 11 am at the Ministry of Health with Dir Gen Prevention and Dir Gen European and International Relations. (both government and parliamentary committees are in the making)
Prof. De Maria, Pres of Alliance against Cancer, is in Turin on 18 and 19, he could be available on June 20 in Rome. But as you have to leave for Trieste on that day, he proposed me to have the director general of Alliance against Cancer, dr Paolo De Paoli, participate in the 11 am meeting. I think is a convenient proposal. Let me know what you prefer.
Let me know if have a time to visit CNAO in Pavia (it would be very interesting). Let me know how we can be helpful view that our colleagues told us that also your Embassy in Rome is working on the visit, and we want to avoid any duplication. Rather, allow you to take full advantage of your visit.
Best
Antonio
