Subject: CSW draft agreed conclusions: Rev. 1: Message from the Facilitator
Message from the Facilitator
Dear colleagues,
Thank you so much for your engagement and cooperation during the first reading. I count on you to continue our work in the same spirit.
You entrusted me to streamline the working text based on your inputs and guidance and I have endeavoured to do so. The REV 1 of the draft agreed conclusions of CSW63
that I now share with you, is a streamlined version of the working text. It maintains all the ideas you proposed, and in line with your guidance, I have removed duplicated sentences and paragraphs and attempted to tighten the text. Paragraphs with similar
ideas have been merged; in a few instances, paragraphs have been placed in different sections.
You are now receiving two documents:
The
REV 1 which includes all the paragraphs. The document has been renumbered, with former paragraph numbers listed in brackets for ease of reference. The new numbering will facilitate and ease referencing for our discussion. The REV 1 no longer includes
references to their sources, delegations or any other sources.
In addition, you are receiving
a list of paragraphs. This list follows the order of paragraphs in the
working text. This makes it easy to see how paragraphs have been merged or moved around.
I am looking forward to our meeting on Thursday, 14 March, at 3pm in CR 4 to commence our second reading; the same rules from the first reading will apply with regard
to time keeping and management. My plan is to make as much progress as possible, so please be prepared to stay with me into the evening until 8.00 pm and to engage constructively as you did during the first reading. I plan to finish the second reading
by Friday 15 March evening. I will be begging your indulgence again to shorten our lunch break on Friday as we did during the first reading in order to gain more time.
Based on the lessons learnt from our first reading, I plan to go through the text on the basis of clusters of paragraphs and I hope that we will start agreeing on a
good number of paragraphs.
I look forward to all your support and continued cooperation for a successful and smooth process. I am at your disposal for any questions that you might have. Once
again, allow me to most sincerely thank you for your support, cooperation and partnership. I look forward to seeing all of you again.
