Dear Tamar,

It was nice speaking with you too; I do apologize the line dropped before we could set a time. I was chatting away before I realized I was talking to myself…

I’ve taken note of the statement Georgia plans to make, likely during the second plenary session, and would like to see if perhaps 11:30-12:00pm or 12:30-1:00pm would be a possible alternative on Sept. 26? We could look to locations near the Plenary Sessions if convenient.

Additionally, please let me know if there is interest to attend the TB side event that evening, Sept. 26.

Regards!

Beth

Greetings Tamar,

I am working with Ashley on scheduling meetings for CDC Leadership. Would 17:15-17:45 on Sept 26 be a good time to meet with the Minister? If so, I would like to propose the Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel, 141 E 44th St.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to your minister and any others from the Georgia Delegation to attend a side co-hosted by CDC. It would be occurring soon after this proposed meeting and within a short walk from the Fitzpatrick! I’ve attached a concept note. If interested, please let the email addresses of who we can send invitations to.

Thank kindly, I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Beth

Subject: Meeting request

Dear Joel,

Greetings! Hope all is well. I would like to follow up with you regarding our request. Any thought when it may take place? This meeting is high priority for us so we will do our best to make Minister’s schedule as flexible as possible. With the exception on Sept 26th from 11-1 pm when H.E Sergeenko is co-chairing one of the  Panels on TB HLM.

Minister is also available afternoon of Sept 25th, or most of the times on 27 and 28th.

Many thanks and looking very much forward to hearing back from you.

Regards, Tamar

P.S. Dear Ashely, as for our meeting lets chat separately on availabilities. Can’t wait to see you!

How wonderful Ashely that you are coming too! We should definitely find time for a quick coffee at least.

Dear Joel,  Nice meeting with you virtually. As you may know Georgia works very closely with US CDC on number of outstanding projects including Hepatitis C elimination project. It is highly important for Minister Sergeenko and Dr. Amiran Gamkrelidze to meet with Dr. Redfield if his schedule permits.

Please, let me know when and if such meeting be possible.

Many thanks,

Warm regards, Tamar

Tamar!

How wonderful to hear from you and congrats on your new role at Georgia’s Mission to the UN.  Very exciting work, but I certainly understand your feelings about having to live in NYC. J

I am adding my colleagues from CDC’s Center for Global Health, who have been keeping an eye on the Director’s bilateral schedule at UNGA, which I understand is still taking shape.  I certainly hope we can find time for this meeting, but will let them respond with any insight they have into his current availability.

I’ll actually be traveling with Dr. Redfield to New York, so if we are able to set up the meeting it would be great to steal a few minutes to catch up on life after DC.

All the best,

Ashley

Dear Ashley,

It’s been a long time since our last correspondence. Hope all is well and you are enjoying living in Atlanta. There have been some changes in my life too. I have been transferred to Permanent Mission of Georgia to the United Nations last November. It’s a bit different experience than in Washington but I do enjoy multilateral setting, but compared to Chevy Chase not too excited about living in NYC J

With the current letter I would like to request a meeting between CDC Director Robert Redfield and Minister David Sergeenko and Director of NCDC Amiran Gamkrelidze during their visit in NYC for UNGA (Sept 25-29). Could you advise weather such meeting be possible and who would be POC at CDC?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Warmest regards, Tamar
