Subject: New Report: COVID-19 Human Rights Obligations - 2nd Edition
Dear colleagues,
The Human Rights Likeminded Office (HRLO.org) is pleased to share with you the second edition of the comprehensive report on COVID-19: Human Rights Obligations (click here to view or download: A4 / Letter). Both editions of this report were made possible thanks to the generous contribution of the Government of Luxembourg.
The purpose of this report is to make the latest information on COVID-19 and human rights accessible to all relevant stakeholders. The focus on human rights obligations, including language from human rights treaties, can support the international community in making the necessary commitments through public statements and U.N. resolutions to strengthen response to COVID-19 and preparedness for future emergencies.
This report presents relevant human rights obligations in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, organized by themes. The report draws on statements and guidance notes from U.N. staff and human rights experts, as well as civil society organizations. This edition combines the most recent relevant information, as well as the information that was included in the first edition from May 2020.
Best regards,
Yoni
