Subject: COVID-19 and electoral processes
Dear Tamar,
We thought this information and documents on COVID-19 and elections could be useful for Georgia in this period.
WHO is still working on a document “Public health considerations for electoral processes in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the guidance note is to provide details on the public health precautionary measures that should be implemented in the context of in-person events related to an electoral process, with the aim of decreasing risk of transmission of COVID-19. It is now with clearance at WHO Headquarters and we’ll share it with you as soon as cleared.
Meanwhile, you can find attached the presentation on COVID-19 considerations during elections, which has been delivered by WHO Headquarters in Tajikistan.
The following website (IDEA) has a repository of information on COVID-19 and elections – under “Featured cases” you will find country examples with many details. The whole website contains a lot of useful data.

The PAHO colleagues kindly shared with us the ENG translation of the OAS guide to organizing elections. You may find it useful as well. http://www.oas.org/documents/eng/press/Guide-to-Organizing-Elections-During-a-Pandemic-vFINAL.pdf.
I would like to use this opportunity to reiterate once again our readiness to support the PHC initiative in Batumi.
Also, in case you need any additional specific support related to the current epidemiological situation, don’t hesitate to contact me – we can always organize short calls for a restricted circle of people, with participation of our experts in various areas from the Regional Office.
With best regards,
Silviu
