Dear Mr. Sieber,
As a follow up to your email to Ms. Nikoleishvili, first of all thank you very much for your interest in possible assistance to Georgia in providing the flu vaccines.
NCDC has procured 135,000 doses of flu vaccines from Sanofi Pasteurs, to be delivered in Georgia soon, but we have still a shortage and would be very thankful if U.S. could help us in providing
about the same amount of Seasonal quadrivalent influenza vaccine (inactivated and in single-dose packages).
For reference, we are attaching to this letter 2 files: 1. Special requirements for
Seasonal quadrivalent influenza vaccine for 2020-2021 must comply with World Health Organization guidelines and 2. Annotation of abovementioned vaccine from Sanofi Pasteur, purchased by the state procurement.
Ms. Lika Jabidze (l.jabodze@ncdc.ge), Head of Immunization Division of NCDC - the main contact person regarding the vaccines and I will be happy to provide any additional
information needed.
Best regards,
Nana

Maia,
Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the Adjara region the Embassy is requiring we do not hold in person meetings with people who have been in Adjara in the last 14 days. Therefore, I cannot met in person with Deputy Minister Gabunia
until after Oct 2.
On another note I was hoping you can confirm some information. We have heard from several sources that Georgia has a shortage of flu vaccines and will be requesting assistance from the U.S. to help provide the required numbers. Is this
true? If so can you put me in touch with someone who can discuss this with me?

Maia,
Wherever Dr. Gabunia wants to meet I will defer too. If there is an outdoor or very well ventilated area at the Ministry that would be perfect. The Embassy is trying to conduct as many meetings in low-covid transmission risk venues as
possible.
Regard,
Bill

Greetings,
Let me introduce myself. I am Bill Sieber the new Environmental, Health, Science and Technology Officer at the US Embassy. I am replacing Juan Aparicio. He left you as one of the important contacts in relation
to health issues in Georgia. I am hoping that my colleague Maiko and I can meet with you next week to discuss COVID-19 and other current health issues facing Georgia. Can you meet for a coffee next Wednesday or Thursday? Do you have a preferred location?
