I hope my email finds you well. I was checking our latest communications regarding the UHC2030 Focal Point from Georgia.

 

On the verge of the 72WHA and also as the High Level Meeting on UHC (HLM UHC) is fast approaching we are checking our lists and updating the focal points within our member countries. I would kindly follow up with you regarding the focal point from Georgia. In case it might be helpful, I am also attaching a brief on what the Focal point role and responsibilities are.

As mentioned now that the UN HLM meeting is approaching and with the 72WHA in May we need to send updates and communicate with our partners and it would be of extreme importance to have a designated person from Georgia whom we can approach.

Apologies for the delay in responding. I am sure that Jessica or Akihito will provide you with the requested information and necessary guiding on accessing the event. Please also kindlynote that our colleague Lara Brearley (here copied) will be the UHC2030 focal point attending the event so please in case you need any further information kindly link with her.

 

Regarding the designated focal point for UHC2030 we will need a person name and contact from your Ministry of Health to add in our UHC2030 focal point contact’s list. Mainly this person will be in charge for all communication aspects and links between UHC2030 and your Ministry. We will communicate through her any relevant news, information and other updated aspects related to membership in UHC2030, such as future collaboration and involvement in our Technical working groups, future events and meetings.

 

Please do let me know if there is any other information you need and I am happy to further discuss with you at any time, perhaps after the event.

I am reaching out to see if our registration is complete and weather we need printed tickets to get to the Delegates Dining Room, UN Conference Building on 26^th. Will we be allowed to come by elevator just by showing ground passes? Also, could you comment what is the responsibility of the focal point in Georgia?

Following your interest to join UHC2030, we are pleased to invite you to consider joining a ceremonial signing session with countries and agencies who will endorse the UHC2030 Global Compact for progress towards UHC. It will take place on Wednesday, 26 September 2018, either 18:00 – 18:30 or 19:30-20:00at the South Dining Room of the United Nations Headquarters (4F), before or after the main program of the high-level event on“UHC Leaves No One Behind: work together towards good health and well-being for all”, co-hosted by the Government of Thailand and Government of Japan and co-organized by other UHC2030 Partners.

Please find attached a flyer which provides more details regarding the main program of this event. We will share the official program of the ceremonial signing session soon. 

 

Please note that as part of our UHC2030 membership regulations, we kindly would like to inform you that prior to your confirmation to join the ceremonial signing session; we would need a formal letter from you, endorsing the UHC2030 Global compact, addressed to Dr Naoko Yamamoto, Assistant Director-General for UHC and Health Systems, WHO, and to Dr Tim Evans, Senior Director of Health Nutrition and Population, the World Bank Group. Such a letter can be a communication from your Minister of Health along the following lines:

 

•             I am pleased to express the interest of [COUNTRY NAME] to join UHC2030.

•             The main objectives of UHC2030 and Global Compact principles reflect our mission of …

•             [COUNTRY NAME] has been an active partner of the global health community in promoting/advocating … and in taking the UHC agenda forward at country level, working closely with communities, etc…

•             We look forward to being part of UHC2030 and work closely with other committed partners in taking forward the agenda of HSS for UHC

 

Once received, the official request for membership will be routed though and an official notification will be shared with you in due course.
