Dear Maia,
Would appreciate if you could provide a bit more details (specification and model) about the ventilators
manufactured by the “Mindray”. Seems there are different models. Also the availability of ventilators for the transfer.
By the way, are there other items purchased under the World Bank funded project, which could be transferred to Gudauta Infectious Hospital? We are ready to facilitate the transportation
and hand-over.
Many thanks in advance.
With kindest rgds
Giorgi

Dear Colleagues,
As we were informed the donated 5 ventilators are already in Georgia. Today we will complete customs clearance procedure and dispatch the goods.
Hereby, please be informed that Mr. Tengiz Tsertsvadze, Director General of the Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center kindly asked the Minister Ekaterine
Tikaradze to hand over all 5 ventilators to their center, since the specification of these ventilators are fully in compliance with their requirements and they extremely need these ventilators to handle severe COVID cases.
Therefore, we kindly request you to consider the mentioned circumstances and in case of your consent we will hand over all 5 ventilators to the Infectious Diseases Center. However,
the Ministry within the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project of the World Bank has purchased ventilators manufactured by the “Mindray” and we are ready to give 2 of them to Gudauta Infectious Hospital.
Hope for your kind consideration and understanding.
Looking forward to receiving your feedback.
Thank you once again for your continued efforts and dedicated support rendered for the development of health care system in Georgia.
Best regards,
Maia

Dear All,
Hope you are doing well!
We almost finished formal procedures regarding customs clearance of ventilators. As soon as the goods arrive we will be able to dispatch immediately.
Only thing that we need to indicate in formal documentation is whom we are going to hand over 2 ventilators.
Could you provide exact name of the institution where with support of UNDP those 2 ventilators will be delivered?
Your early response is highly appreciated.
Best regards,
Maia

Subject: Re: Procurement of Ventilators
Dear Maia,
concerning the ventilators a new date for the handing over has not been announced yet.
On behalf of our Ambassador, Hubert Knirsch, I would like to address you with the question, whether or not it would be possible to dedicate two of the five ventilators
foreseen for Georgia to Abkhazia.
This, of course, under the condition that the amount of ventilators currently existing on the Tbilisi controlled territory is according to your assessment sufficient
even if the numbers of infections increase.
Furthermore we would need to double check with UN-DP, if Abkhazian medical workers have the skills to operate this certain ventilator. If this two conditions
are fulfilled, we would also need to know, how the packages should be labeled so that they would be accepted by Abkhazia.
I’m kindly looking forward to your answer.
Best regards,
Sonja
