I am pleased to communicate to you that the formal side event we had previously discussed  «How transformational digital technologies can contribute to leave no one behind in UHC: the case of rare diseases » has been selected.  The date and time that has been assigned to us is 12H30 to 14H00 on May 23^rd at the Palais des Nations (please find attached the document that was sent to us by the EU PM listing all the side events which have been selected and the original application)

As discussed, this formal side event is hosted by the Permanent Mission of the EU and sponsored by Romania and Kuwait. We would be honoured if Georgia accepts to co-sponsor this formal side event. The deadline to notify the WHO Secretariat of willingness to cosponsor is May 1^st

Canice Nolan, who is the focal point at the EU Permanent Mission in Geneva, is in charge of centralising all the requests for cosponsorship and will forward them to the WHO Secretariat. In order to meet the deadline, the Member States need to signal their interest to cosponsor to Canice Nolan before COB on April 29.

Please note that the informal side event on Rare Diseases and Universal Health Care the same day at the Red Cross Museum has now changed timing to 18H00 to 19H30. You are naturally cordially invited to both events. We will send out formal invitations and detailed programmes soon.
