Subject: Collection of information on health and medical facilities in the region [JICA]

 

Dear Ms. Mariana,

 

Good afternoon, I trust this mail finds you well.

 

I am writing this mail to consult and ask a favor of you.

In November last year a mission in education sector headed by the Minister was dispatched to Japan and both side discussed the future possibilities of collaboration.  One of the possibilities discussed is rehabilitation or construction of educational facilities in the regions along with the surrounding facilities like water, sanitation, road, transport, health post, center, hospital, etc. which is a sort of regional infrastructure development project, although this is not committed at this moment.

 

We are considering to dispatch a mission for the mentioned above in a near future observing the situation, and prior to dispatch of the mission we have commenced collecting the related basic information including health and medical facilities in the regions.  But there are some ten regions excluding the capital city of Tbilisi and one region, some 60 municipalities, large number of health and medical facilities.  It is therefore difficult to collect all the information and we should focus specific candidate target regions and municipalities, and which health and medical facilities,  health posts, centers or hospitals. And also the needs are not so clear, for example, is it necessary to rehabilitate the existing facilities or build new facilities?

 

We would like to hear your opinion on the needs and candidate target areas of regions and municipalities, and the basic data on the health and medical facilities would be very useful for further site visits to check the conditions and their needs.  And information on the assistances from the other development partners are also useful to consider the candidate target regions and municipalities, and to avoid duplication.

 

With respect to the mentioned above, could you kindly introduce the officers in charge to contact from our office?

And also please let us know whether or not it is possible to have a meeting with those officers because of your remote working due to COVID-19.
