The French Development Agency (AFD) is currently working together with the World Bank (WB) to co-finance the Private Sector Competitiveness Development Policy Operation 2 (DPO 2). In this framework, AFD considers extending to Georgia a 60 M€ policy based loan as well as a grant dedicated to fund technical assistance for supporting the implementation of the pension system reform.

During AFD last mission in May, we have the opportunity to meet you and Mr. Sergeenko together with the World Bank team so as to start discussing about the pension system reform.

AFD experts from the Department for Health and Social Protection will conduct a new mission on September 11-15th 2017 to finalize the credit facility agreement with the Ministry of Finance, but also to further discuss the components of the technical assistance as well as the possibility of future cooperation between AFD and Georgia on policy reform in the field of social protection. That is why it would be very interesting for AFD to have the opportunity to meet you and your team during this mission.

The aim of the meeting is to discuss the pension system reform, the needs in term of technical assistance to implement, and to consider a forthcoming budget support loan on social protection.
