We will need to go through the formal process with MoH so the formal invitation letter will be sent to MoH shortly. As you mentioned that you are the nominated clinical leader in AMR, and Marina is the nominated AMC focal point, we believe that the nomination process must be straightforward. We will proceed further as soon as we receive the formal nomination from MoH. Before I’ll send you answer, I have one technical question (for planning) – how many persons are available to participate/be invited in these meeting from Georgia. ARHAI meeting (13th – 15th June) Just to remind you, the AMC meeting will be followed by the meeting of ARHAI, the disease programme on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections (ARHAI) of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) on Wednesday 13-Friday 15 June, here in Copenhagen. The ARHAI meeting will bring together the three networks under the ARHAI umbrella: EARS-Net, ESAC-Net and HAI-Net. There will be plenary sessions involving all three groups and some parallel meetings. The AMC Network will meet with ESAC-Net for half a day on Thursday 14th June. If you are interested to take part in the ARHAI meeting, you will be invited to attend both AMC and ARHAI meetings. (11th – 15th June). Programme of AMC meeting We are now working on the programme of the AMC meeting. This year, we are inviting some experts of the topic antimicrobial stewardship to speak with network members. We will also have an area of the room set up with poster boards where you can present activities being undertaken in your country to support the responsible use of antibiotics. This could be a hospital or community-based activity or an activity that targets a particular clinical condition or group of health care providers. We would like you to bring existing materials so that other network members can learn from your country’s activities (for example posters of your work that you have presented at conferences, results of a study you have conducted in a hospital or in pharmacies, educational activities, materials prepared as part of World Antibiotic Awareness Week etc). Note: there is no need to prepare new posters or materials, we want you to share some of the things you are already doing. In addition to the poster boards, we would like network members to present some information on these activities to the group during a session of the meeting. Presentation time will be 5 minutes so we would like you to present just one activity. (Maximum two slides, if you use PowerPoint slides.) There will also be 5 minutes for questions and discussion of the presentation. We are still flexible about the programme and would love to hear from you if you have any topics that you think useful for AMC members. We have had a suggestion of some information/methodology for collecting consumption data for the animal sector. We also plan to have a session, ‘how to use Country database’ that we introduced in the last year’s meeting. However, we will plan how to organize this session depending on your interests as we believe some countries must have already good software for data analysis and there is no need for this database. Accommodation As usual, the demand for accommodation in Copenhagen will be high in June, especially as the ARHAI meeting will involve around 350 participants. We are blocking some rooms in Hotel Cabinn City until 10th April. After that date any request will depend on availability of rooms. Our formal invitation to participate in the AMC Network and ARHAI meetings will be sent out next month. However, you may wish to make a reservation already. Please see attached the reservation form. Come back to us by 14th Feb Please come back to us with suggestions on topics for the AMC meeting, and also let us know if you are interested in the Country database session. Please do not hesitate to tell us if you are not interested. We will plan other optional sessions for you. We are looking forward to hearing from you. Many thanks for your support for the network.
