Dear Minister Sergeenko and Ms. Mkurnali:

I appreciate the kind invitation to Chair the Technical Advisory Group for the Hepatitis C Elimination Program in the Republic of Georgia.  It is an honor to be considered for this role.  After discussions within CDC, our thought is that the Director of the Division of Viral Hepatitis or her or his high-level designee would be the best person to represent CDC and have the experience and skill to chair the TAG.  We are currently conducting a national search for the Director and expect it will be completed within the next 2 months.  We will get back to you shortly after that process is completed.

I continue to be impressed with the Elimination Program’s planning and implementation and commend you on your forsightfulness in saving the lives of so many of the people in Georgia through this project.  I hope to have the chance to visit sometime in the future.

All the best,

Jonathan
