Dear Ms. Mkurnali,

Many thanks for following-up with us on Ms. Nino’s travel arrangements.

We agree that an 8hr stop in Doha would be very inconvenient. Often the way flight times on proposed tickets are arranged make them difficult to read. Please allow me to kindly clarify your proposed departing ticket as follows:

Depart Tbilisi: 21:05

Arrive Doha: 01:05

STOPOVER: 1 hour and 25 minutes

Depart Doha: 02:30

Arrive Bangkok: 13:15

Therefore, Ms. Nino would not be required to wait in Doha for 8hrs, but rather for 1hr and 25 minutes, which we hope will be acceptable.

Regarding the visa, we have been contacted with the Thai Embassy in Ankara as well. We hope her visa will  be granted on time.

As ESCAP funded participant, we will provide Ms. Nino 100% daily subsistence allowance  plus terminal allowance. This will support her accommodation, meals, local transportation and miscellaneous.

The total of allowance will be approximately USD 800, which will be paid in local currency in Thai Baht on the first day of the meeting.

Please find attached list of recommended hotels near the UN Building. If Ms. Nino wish to stay in one of these hotels and need my help to book a room, please let me know.

Should you have any question, please do not hesitate to let me know.

I am waiting for your confirmation on the flight.

Regards,

Supatra

Dear Ms. Kaewchana

I’m writing on behalf of Mrs. Nino Odisharia, regarding the Flight itinerary that you have provided, According to your ticket she has to stay in the airport or airport hotel in DOHA more than 8 hours, which makes her trip quite difficult. In this regard  we would  like to kindly ask you to consider the possibility of issuing the flight ticket which will enable Mrs. odisharia to stay in Bangkok from November 12th ,2017?

As for Mrs. Odisharias Visa, we have sent the documentation to the Thai Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, in order to ensure visa approval would it be possible to send a formal letter from your side to Thai Embassy in Ankara to facilitate the process of granting the visa as soon as possible?

Also, We would greatly appreciate if you could suggest several hotels that  are located near the venue.

Best regards,

Mariana Mkurnali

Subject: Invitation to the Strategic Dialogue on Building Inclusive Social Protection Systems, 14 - 15 November 2017, UNCC, Bangkok

Dear Ms. Odisharia,

Right now some 60 per cent of all women, men and children in Asia and the Pacific have only partial or no social protection coverage at all.

ESCAP, as the regional development arm of the United Nations in Asia and the Pacific, is therefore bringing together policymakers, practitioners and thought-leaders to discuss how to build effective and inclusive social protection systems in order to extend coverage to all.

Given your expertise in social protection we are pleased to invite you in your expert capacity to join us in Bangkok, Thailand on 14 and 15 November 2017 in our Strategic Dialogue on Building Inclusive Social Protection Systems . This event, the second in a series of innovative dialogues, will bring together some 30 participants, each of you carefully selected to bring the latest evidence and ideas.

Over the course of two days, we will explore four questions:

·        How social protection contributes to economic development and what is the evidence in Asia and the Pacific?

·        What barriers do countries in the region face in investing in and implementing inclusive and effective national social protection systems?

·        What can be learnt from those countries with more inclusive and comprehensive social protection systems?

·        What needs to be done to build commitment to inclusive and more effective social protection across the region?

ESCAP will cover your travel costs to and from Bangkok, as well as daily subsistence allowance in line with United Nation regulations.

Please kindly indicate your interest and availability to participate in this Dialogue by Monday 23 October.

A detailed programme will be provided in due course.

Kindest Regards,

Patrik
