Ekaterine   I hope you are well.   I’m writing to flag that the government of Fiji will be proposing an additional item for the WHO Executive Board 142 agenda to profile, and secure a first, historic, resolution on, global drowning prevention.   As we have had positive dialogue on this issue in recent months, I wanted to reach out to explore whether Georgia might consider co-sponsoring this request, along with other EB Members.   I attach the Explanatory Memorandum prepared to make the case for this additional agenda item (cover note and issue scored against new EB prioritisation criteria) and would be hugely grateful if you would contact capital colleagues to explore whether you would be willing to support.   As you may be aware, the deadline for submission of additional agenda items is end of day Thursday 21 September – I recognise that the turn-around is tight, but remain hopeful that you may be able to co-sponsor this proposal, demonstrating your support for this forgotten, but preventable, epidemic.   Looking forward to hearing back from you, as ever     Helen   Helen Morton Head of International Advocacy RNLI www.rnli.org
