Dear Ms Morgoshia,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent collaboration in the completion of the 2016 National questionnaire for the minimum public health dataset for prisons in the WHO European Region.
The related preview country profile has now been completed (please see attached). These country profiles will ultimately be published on the WHO Regional Office for Europe Prisons and Health website and on the WHO Global Health Observatory.
Please note that the information collated and presented comes primarily from the 2016 survey responses received from your country through the officially nominated national expert. These country profiles include the majority (but not all) of the indicators included in the 2016 survey. However, all indicators are available in the recently launched Health in Prisons European Database (HIPEDhttp://apps.who.int/gho/data/node.prisons. If you note any changes to your responses in the country profile, the data in the database will be updated accordingly.
The final country profile will include a short description regarding subnational or data from surveys, as follows: ‘This country profile provides an overview of available data on the national situation regarding prison health. Subnational data or data reported from individual research studies are available on HIPED http://apps.who.int/gho/data/node.prisons
In addition, please find attached a list of indicators with explanatory notes and definitions.
Please review the attached country profile carefully, and we encourage you to contact us if you have any questions. Please note that the response ‘Missing’ means that no response was given in the survey we received from you and ‘No national data’ is where you indicated that no data is available for your country. In cases where data was reported based on a single research study or only one or a few prisons, we have indicated ‘No national data’ but the full information you supplied is available in HIPED as an explanatory comment.
The World Health Organization would like to receive your reply by 16 April 2018.
If there is no response by 16 April 2018, it will be assumed that there are no objections, and the attached profile can be published.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Carina Ferreira-Borges, PhD, MPH
