ჟენევაში საქართველოს მისიიდან მიღებული ინფორმაციით, ამ პარალელური ღონისძიების მთავარი ორგანიზატორი/სპონსორი გახდა შვედეთის მთავრობა. შვედეთის მთავრობა მიზანშეწონილად მიიჩნევს, მალავის მიერ დაგეგმილი ანალოგიური პარალელური ღონისძიების ინტეგრირებას, თუ თანასპონსორი სახელმწიფოები წინააღმდეგები არ იქნებიან.

Things are moving quickly…After further discussions the organizations themselves would feel comfortable merging the events to one. From the Swedish side, we’re ok with that as long as the SRHR concept is not being compromised. So I’m sending you a draft revised application merging Malawi’s event into ours that we will test on them. (Also for reference attaching Malawi’s original event).
We need to act quickly so I’m asking you for a mandate to go ahead with this. If any delegation feels uncomfortable with this approach we will withdraw it.
If I get no objections by 12:00 tomorrow, I will take it that this is acceptable to all co-sponsors. In parallel we will check with Malawi and c/o so the result is still uncertain..
Ideally I/we will inform the Secretariat tomorrow early afternoon that these two events have been merged and thus increase our chances of having a formal event at the Palais.

Please do not circulate this email widely.
WHO has informed us and Malawi that our two events are similar (you can find their application on the web site) so hence asked us if we can merge to increase our chances to get selected. If I undersrood correctly, by tomorrow their team will finalise a proposal for Dr Tedros. I have just met with several of the organizations helping us with our side event, realizing the 4th Citizen Dialogue.
Given that the Malawi event event is an established network organized by among others WHO and PMNCH (like ours) and is an event that is planned to take place anyway, a room is already booked at Intercontinental, and that they don’t seem to have any official co-sponsors (only countries mentioned informally, in contrast to ours) and have no contact person here in Geneva, only in capital, for all these reasons we are now trying to get Malawi to join our event, either just join as is, or maybe even as a co-lead with Sweden.
If that does not work, is not acceptable, we will try to communicate again to the Secretariat why we believe our event is more in line with what should be expected, several co-sponsors etc. If we fail and ours does not get selected we will have to accept to be outside of the Palais (such as Intercontinental...).
Given that even our event hs a hook and is the 4th conference in a seäpecific format, I don’t see a total merge of the two as a realistic option.
Given the tight time frame, if I don’t hear any major objections to this approach by the end of the day today, this is how I and my colleagues will proceed.
