Let me thank you once again for excellent collaboration in 2017. It is indeed important to continuo close collaboration in particular in the area of UHC.

It is great to learn that Mrs. Mariana Mkurnali would be available for this task. I will also inform Sarah Thomson, as I consult her on all decisions regarding the UHC, however I do not expect any objections from her side.

 

It would be great if I could meet you in mid-January (between 9-17 January) to discuss the BCA 2018-2019 workplan. Perhaps our country team could join at the meeting so we briefly go through the workplan and define initial steps and a way forward.

Please be informed that from 1^st January, 2018 I will be designated from the Ministry as a National Focal Point for Strategic Collaboration with WHO.

 

Regarding the contract, we all (the Minister, former Deputy Minister-Nino Berdzuli and me) agreed, to make work more efficient it is very important to have coordinator from the Ministry for UHC Partnership, from this year following contract has to be made with Mrs.  Mariana Mkurnali (Head of International Relations Division). You can proceed with contract and give her details about it  and ToR.

This is more an informal than official reflection:

 

While, in principle we avoid any contracts (Agreement for Performance of Work) with the staff from the ministry, we do some exceptions occasionally, when there is a need and when the circumstances allow us to do so.

We were very pleased with your help, as it made our work (missions) very efficient.

At this stage we have no idea, who will be designated at the ministry as a National Focal Point for Strategic Collaboration with WHO. Whoever is going to be designated, we will not be able to sign any contract with that person, due to the possible conflict of interest.

 

We can discuss this further in January 2018, if needed.
