Please, be informed that in April we have completed our WHO country office team for the emergency preparedness.

 

Mr. Kai von Harbou is an international staff member covering several countries, incl. Georgia; currently he is still very much engaged at the regional level and thus most of the time on duty travels, but formally he sits in the WHO Country Office Georgia.

Ms. Tamila Zardiashvili is a national professional officer.

Earlier this year, Ms. Tinatin Gigauri, programme assistant, has joined the country team.

 

The strengthening of the country office is part of the overall strengthening of the WHO’s capacity in the area of emergency preparedness. While the team will mostly focus on the technical assistance to Georgia (and partly neighboring countries), staff may also be engaged in other technical work outside Georgia, depending on the needs of the organization, having in mind global challenges.

 

Perhaps we could organize a short introductory meeting either in the second half of April or second half of May.
