Subject: WHO/EURO Preparation for the SCRC and WHA71 in May 2018

To the attention of the Health Attaches and National Counterparts:

Dear Sir or Madam,

In view of the increasing number of approaches to the WHO Regional Office for Europe about the arrangements for the weekend before the 71st World Health Assembly session (WHA71), the Secretariat would like to inform you that this year exceptionally and taking into account the Walk the Talk event on Sunday, 20th of May, the usual open session of the Standing Committee of the Regional Committee (SCRC) will take place only on Saturday, 19th of May,

and this will be a whole day long session.

With regards to the traditional pre-WHA briefing for the European Member States, that will take place on Sunday, 20th of May in the afternoon as usual, because that briefing is after the Walk the Talk event without overlapping.

Further information including an invitation letter and programme will be sent to you in the coming days, but while waiting this above information may support you in travel arrangements for your delegation members participating at the WHA71.

Should you have any questions or a need for more information, please don`t hesitate to contact Regional Governance Unit to eugovernance@who.int

With best regards,
