Dear Dr Nino Berdzuli, dear Prof Amiran Gamkrelidze,
Attached please find draft programme of the visit of Dr Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe.
She will visit Georgia as part of the meeting of the SCRC.
As discussed the best would be if she is awaited by Prof Amiran G. at the time of arrival (27 November) and escorted by Dr Nino Berdzuli at the departure (30 November).
WHO car can be used for all transfers of Dr Zsuzsanna Jakab during her stay in Georgia.
Due to our internal WHO rules I shall accompany her during her entire visit.
We kindly ask the ministry to:
- secure the VIP Lounge at the airport in Tbilisi at the arrival and departure
- agree the meeting with the Prime Minister; unfortunately the Reginal Director cannot leave the meeting of the SCRC so the possible time slots for the meeting with the prime minister are a bit limited
- confirm the time slot for signing the BCA 2018-2019 (this will only take few minutes)
Please, let us know if you plan any activity with the media (when, where) and how the interpretation will be secured.
Dear Prof Amiran, Zsuzsanna Jakab indicated, that the members of the SCRC shall be invited to visit the WHO Country Office. This can only be done during the lunch, or before dinner, city tour etc. I kindly ask you for advice and guidance when it would be best to provide such option for the members of the SCRC.
Dear Nino, during the weekend I plan to finalize briefing files for the RD and will focus in particular to the meeting with the Prime Minister. For sure she raise the issue of the UHC and health system financing as well as tobacco control, not to mention impressive progress of Georgia in many other areas. Please, let me know if there is any particular issue that the minister envisage during the meeting with the Prime Minister. This would help the RD in preparations for the meeting.
Thank you and best regards,
Marijan Ivanusa
