Dear Sopo,

As you are aware, Georgia is receiving support from GAVI in transition phase to full self-procurement of the vaccines for the National Immunization Programme. The funding for most of the activities in Transition Grant funded by GAVI for Georgia is channeled through the WHO and UNICEF.

In this regard, we invite you to nominate national institutions which could implement activities included in GAVI Transition Plan as of Terms of Reference enclosed with this email.

According to WHO financial rules and regulations, all purchases and other contracts shall be made on the basis of competitive bids, except when otherwise authorized by designated officials (WHO Financial Rule XI – Procurement of goods and services – para 111.3). In order to comply with this requirement and to allow for transparent competition among prospective providers, your nomination should include at least three possible institutions.

Upon receipt of an official communication from you with such nomination, WHO will initiate the tender solicitation and evaluation process, for subsequent award of the contract to the institution which provided the best offer.

Please, let me know if you need any further information/clarification.

Thank you very much in advance,
