This is just to check if there are any changes regarding the meeting in Barcelona, scheduled for 18 and 19 April 2017.

 

As per the information below the Georgian delegation shall travel from Tbilisi to Barcelona on Monday, 17 April, have meetings on 18-19 April (Tuesday and Wednesday), and travel back to Tbilisi on Thursday evening, 20 April, except the Minister – who travels directly to Amsterdam.

 

The delegation shall consist as follows:

Greetings dear Mr. Ivanuša,

 

I am very sorry but we have to reschedule dates for already planned meeting in Barcelona. Today very unexpectedly the Minister Sergeenko received an information that he has to be in Amsterdam in the evening of 20th of April, as he should attend very important conference and meetings there.  As planned meeting in Barcelona carries significant importance for him, we would like to ask you whether  it would be possible to reschedule meetings on 18-19 April.

 

Due to the existing circumstances  the delegation prefers to travel on April 17 (Monday), to have meetings on April 18-19 (Tuesday and Wednesday), and travel back on April 21, Thursday evening (part of delegation with travel to Georgia and  the Minister - directly to Amsterdam).

 

Once again I would like to apologize for inconveniences.

This is just to confirm that I was in touch with the WHO Barcelona Office which confirmed that the costs of the participation of the reasonably small national team at the meeting in Barcelona (travel and per diem) can be covered by the office.

 

The composition of the team participating the meeting is absolutely your domain.

 

For example another country recently decided to bring to the meeting: minister of health, state secretary (deputy minister of health), senior official from the ministry of finance, optionally representative of the parliament.

From our perspective similar composition could be a good choice also for Georgia, having in mind the latest policy proposals incl. the six step programme document.

 

The final decision however is your, as you know best, what works for you.

As a follow-up to our discussions on Health System Financing / Universal Health Coverage I would like to inform you about the possible dates for a high level meeting in Barcelona.

 

The possible dates for the meeting on HS financing and UHC in Barcelona are as follows:

28-31 March

3-7 April

19-21 April

The meeting shall be 1.5-2 days long.

 

It would be great if you could personally lead a small Georgian delegation at the proposed meeting on which the WHO team together with you and Georgian experts would entirely focus on key issues of health system financing in Georgia.

 

Once you confirm the dates and the participants, we will begin to work on the objectives, agenda and other issues.
