Dear Dr Nino Berdzuli, deputy minister,
dear Prof. Amiran Gamkrelidze, director general,
Let me thank you for nominating the national representatives that will take part at the PHS study tour to London.
Dear colleagues,
Please, find attached letter, that you may use for applying for the UK visa. I shall also send it directly to the UK visa center in Tbilisi. As per my understanding you should apply for visa on-line. Please, liaise between you, as some of you might have had look already and can help the others by useful hints.
The visa process may take long and the study tour is scheduled for 4-9 December, so I kindly ask you to immediately apply for the visa. Visa is extremely expensive.
As per our internal rules we cannot refund you the costs of the visa.
Because visa is so expensive (you may need to ask for priority service to get it on time), I am doing my best to secure clearance and funds for reimbursing the visa costs (at least partly), but cannot promise any success. I will keep you informed if there is any news.
Some of you will receive the reimbursement travel related costs – as indicated in the attached letter (WHO will cover the cost of travel to London and will provide, through its authorized travel agents, economy class or excursion fare air tickets, if applicable, by the most direct and economical route to and from London. The Organization will also provide a daily subsistence allowance throughout the period of attendance at the meeting, including time spent on authorized travel. The so called per-diem for London is 351 USD per day. You will receive that money on your bank account shortly before travel, and you have to cover the costs of the hotel and meals as well as any other costs.)
We suggest you that you check and book the hotel by using the following web page provided by Imperial College London: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/visitors-accommodation/local-hotels/ Ideally you should stay in the same hotel, but again this is up to you to decide.
We have submitted request for the flight options and will let you know the flight options as soon as we receive them.
Best regards,
Marijan Ivanusa
