Dear Colleagues,

This week, the 20th International AIDS conference (AIDS 2014) is taking place in Melbourne, Australia.  Abt Associates is joining with our Abt JTA colleagues to have a strong presence at this important worldwide event.

On Sunday, we kicked off Abt’s activities with a special panel on, “Improving Outcomes Along the HIV Care Continuum: Getting Services to Hard-to-Reach Populations in Vietnam, Mozambique and the United States,” featuring the incoming President of the International AIDS Society, Chris Beyrer.

Financing to fight the epidemic and integrating HIV clinical services into primary healthcare systems are two of the other areas where we are demonstrating our thought leadership through presentations, posters and abstracts.  Additionally, we are participating in an event with business leaders on AIDS and the Private Sector.

At our interactive booth in the exhibit hall, conference attendees have the opportunity to learn about Abt Associates, connect with our colleagues and share valuable information.

Most sessions have taken a moment to recognize the tragic loss of life in the destruction of MH-17 in Ukraine, including six AIDS researchers and practitioners in route to participate in the conference.

You can follow Abt’s participation by visiting our AIDS 2014 web page throughout the week. We’ll post the latest conference information and live updates from Melbourne. We’ll also be tweeting from @abtassociates using the hashtag #AIDS2014.

For nearly 30 years, Abt Associates has contributed to the global HIV/AIDS response, delivering rigorous research findings, effective interventions, and systemic program evaluations to prevent and control the spread of HIV.  AIDS 2014 is an opportunity for us to come together with policy makers, partner organizations, funders, and people living with HIV and AIDS from around the world to share knowledge and ensure we are part of a sustained response to this global epidemic.

Please join me in recognizing Abt Associates’ bold, original thinking, which is changing outcomes in HIV/AIDS.

Regards,

Jay
