I am thrilled to share the news that AGI—the Abt Global Intranet--has been named one of the 10 best-designed intranets for 2014 by the Nielsen Norman Group, the premier user-experience research firm!
In announcing this worldwide award, Nielsen Norman called attention to AGI's focus on responsive, mobile-first design, noting that Abt "resolved to redesign the intranet to enable global collaboration on projects and proposals, so staff everywhere could access the latest company thinking on breakthrough methods and innovation."
Our new intranet is all about improving collaboration across divisions, departments, offices, and continents so we can leverage the full capabilities of Abt to improve the lives of people around the world. We brought together a broad and diverse team of Abt “users” to design and build this world class site: our Reputational Capital and Knowledge Management team; IT, Corporate Communications and the Divisions. This cross-company team made sure that we built something that reflected a strong understanding of the user’s needs, had a technical architecture that allowed access around the world from any device, and resulted in a look and feel that is true to our brand.
Congratulations to everyone involved with developing and implementing AGI. To me, this award is emblematic of our company's heritage of bold thinking: with AGI we want to ensure that the best thinking of our 2,700 global employees is available to solve the toughest problems.
