Dear Colleagues,

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has awarded Abt JTA the contract to manage Governance for Growth (KOMPAK, formerly SISDEGI ), a major economic and social sector program. Indonesia is an Abt priority country and this win will be the first major project for Abt in Indonesia, and the first non-health sector program for the JTA subsidiary of Abt. This major win outside the health sector was supported through collaboration between Abt JTA, IEG and SEP (with support from Abt Creative Services). The initial contract will operate for three and a half years with a value of AU$80 million, with a four year extension option and the potential for two major expansions to the scope and value of the program.

KOMPAK is a large and complex program that is uniquely placed to add value to the Government of Indonesia’s own efforts to improve the social and economic conditions of its citizens. The program comprises a corporate and operations support platform and three components that are designed to support economic growth and service delivery at the local level in Indonesia. Under this contract, Abt JTA will implement both the corporate platform and the first program component: the Community Development Support Facility.

Abt JTA secured this win against strong competition from firms that have significant programs and track-records in Indonesia. This success reflects the post-acquisition enhancement of the business development process in Abt JTA, the strength and experience of the new management team and the effective leverage of the full capacity of One Global Abt.

Congratulations to the proposal team for securing this transformative win, including Dr Jane Thomason (bid lead), Kristin Cullison (proposal manager), Geoff Elvy, Julie Hind and Caroline Wilkins (technical writers), Harrison Wildman (cost proposal lead), Julie Sabol (proposal designer), Peter Levine (IEG) and Jeff Leone (GBDU). The bid was supported by Ben Judd, Iain Smith, Dan Drewe, Clare Woolsey, Emma Field, Megan Saltmarsh, Stephen Kennedy, Scott Mills, Scott Roantree and Thomas Hertel from Abt JTA.  Thank you to all Abt colleagues who contributed to this and to the dedicated project and corporate staff across the entire Abt family whose commitment, expertise and experience made this achievement possible.

Best Regards,

Jay
