iJET : Worldcue(R) Alert

All,

I wanted to alert you to this iJet notice we received about 30 minutes ago.  No doubt there will be extensive media coverage beginning very soon.  There has already been much speculation as to the cause of this tragic event ranging from airframe or mechanical failure to a terrorist action/explosive device and the possibility that the airliner may have been brought down by a surface to air missile.  Obviously, all of this is speculation at this point.  Recalling the Korean Airlines 007 shoot down off Kamchatka just over 30 years ago, there is certainly precedent for official government involvement either accidentally or intentionally.

While Pat (BCD) informs me that we rarely use Malaysian Airlines for overseas travel, until we learn more regarding causation, I recommended to him and to all staff personnel that you attempt to book travel on an alternative carrier until crew or maintenance involvement is definitively ruled out.
