Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Brian Roemer will join Abt Associates, on July 22, as General Counsel, reporting to me.    Brian will  manage the company’s legal issues, including overseeing our partnerships with external legal counsel in collaboration with our divisions and departments.  He will be located in our Bethesda office and will be a member of the Management Advisory Group (MAG).

Brian joins Abt Associates from gategroup Americas, a global airline services company, where he serves as Corporate Counsel.   He has held a variety of other positions over the course of his career, including practicing law at Crowell & Moring LLP where he advised clients on issues such as ethics and compliance, Federal Acquisition Regulations and government procurement, and mergers and acquisitions.  Brian has been a Flight Officer in the United States Navy and also worked for several years at a federal government contractor.  He is a graduate of The George Washington University School of Law and holds a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School at Harvard.  While growing up,  Brian spent significant time living in developing countries with his family while his father worked for USAID.  His background, legal and government contractor experience prepare him well for our portfolio of work.  

Please join me in welcoming Brian to Abt Associates.  He will be joining us Friday at the annual meeting in Bethesda, so take a moment to introduce yourself!
