CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR
THE 2013 BEST SCHOLARLY ARTICLE AWARD
At Abt Associates
This announcement seeks submissions for the 2013 Best Scholarly Article Award. The Best Scholarly Article Award is given annually to recognize an outstanding publication. Publications represent an important part of our effort to build reputational capital.
The award includes a cash prize of $5,000. If more than one author of the winning article are current Abt employees at the time of the award, the prize will be divided evenly among them.
The award will be presented at our Annual Meeting in June.
You must submit your articles to the Thought Leadership Database by May 3, 2013.
AWARD CRITERIA and PROCESS:
Only articles authored or co-authored by current Abt Associates, Abt SRBI, or Abt JTA employees are eligible for consideration. Also, articles must be published in a peer-reviewed or refereed journal between April 2, 2012, and March 30, 2013. Finally, articles must be entered in the Thought Leadership Database. All articles meeting these conditions will automatically be eligible.
A committee representing different divisions will review the eligible articles. Representatives of the Abt Board of Directors will select the winning article. Review and selection will be based on the following criteria:
· Thoughtful design and careful execution of the work.
· Integrity and insight in analysis and interpretation.
· Contribution to general knowledge or to the ability to act on important problems.
· Clarity and accessibility of the presentation.
SUBMISSION PROCESS:
Articles for review will be gathered exclusively through the Thought Leadership Database (TLDB).
If you haven’t yet entered your work into the Thought Leadership Database, please do so by May 3rd.
**And, ensure that an electronic copy of your paper is in the TLDB**

Submissions are due in The Thought Leadership Database by COB Friday, May 3, 2013.
