What is happening?
We are working to reduce the number of IDs and passwords you need for Abt systems. To do this, a number of system changes are needed. The first of these changes will take place June 22 through June 24 and requires that the email system be unavailable Friday, June 22 at 9PM EDT through Sunday, June 24 midnight EDT.
To prepare for the email downtime, what do I need to do?
Here is your Countdown to Downtime Checklist:
Do you know your email password?
§ You must know your password to access email on Monday, June 25.
§ If you are not sure, locate the Email Password section of this message and follow the easy steps.
Is Lync, the new instant messaging software, loaded on your computer?
§ This must be installed before the email system downtime. If not, please contact your IT Manager to make arrangements.
Can you be in the office on June 25?
§ The final changes will occur on your computer when you login on Monday.
§ We recommend that you login from your office Monday if at all possible. If you encounter any difficulties your IT Manager can help you.
Do you get Abt email on a mobile device?
§ After the email system changes are complete, your device will need to be reconfigured. Your IT Manager will do this for you. You will need to provide your device and the password to access it.
When the email system changes are complete, how do I access my email?
If Lync has not been installed on your computer, you will not be able to use Outlook to access your email. Contact your IT Manager to schedule your Lync installation. In the meantime, you can access Abt email using Webmail at: http://mail.office365.com.
If Lync has been installed, your first login to Outlook will complete the email system changes. The next time you login to Outlook, you will access it in a different way. All the details you will need are found in the attached document: After Email Downtime Login Instructions.
Email Password
To verify that you know your Abt email password, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Microsoft Online Services (MOS) Sign in window and click the down arrow to the right of the E-Mail and Calendaring item
2. Click Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access
3. Enter your email address: firstname_lastname@abtassoc.com
4. Enter your email password and click Log On
Did you remember your email password?
If so then you are ready! If not, then contact your IT Manager.
