Business Action for Child Health | July 24 | 9:30 AM EST | Part 2 of a 3-Part MDG Health Series

REGISTER NOW to join GBCHealth, World Vision and DSM for the second segment of the three-part series on the health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), “Business Action for Child Health.” This series is designed to accelerate private sector engagement in the final push to achieve the 2015 MDGs.

Each year nearly 7 million children die—most of them from preventable diseases. Leading private sector companies and NGO partners are leveraging their assets to save children’s lives in the final push to achieve the 2015 MDGs. However, efforts and financing must be redoubled if we are to meet the goal of a two-thirds reduction in child mortality and a one-half reduction in hunger by the year 2015.

David McGinty of World Vision and Sheetal Bhadekar of DSM, with GBCHealth's Joya Banerjee as moderator, will discuss private sector engagement can help drive action in preventing child morbidity and mortality around the world. World Vision will present the successes and lessons learned from the RAPIDS (Reaching HIV/AIDS affected People with Integrated Development and Support) public-private partnership, a multi-sectoral scale-up of community-based HIV prevention initiatives in 52 districts across Zambia focused on orphans and vulnerable children and at-risk youth. DSM will showcase their use of core competencies as the world's leading supplier of vitamins, carotenoids and other ingredients to the food, feed, pharmaceutical and personal care industry, in conjunction with the United Nations Food Programme, to fight “Hidden Hunger,” the lack of nutrition which leads to stunting and morbidity, particularly among children.

Join GBCHealth on Wednesday, July 24 at 9:30 AM EST and learn how your company can take an active role in achieving MDG 4 and reducing child mortality globally.

Speakers include:

  • Joya Banerjee, Manager, Membership and Advisory Services, GBCHealth
  • David McGinty, Director of Public-Private Partnerships, World Vision
  • Sheetal Bhadekar, Senior Manager for Corporate Affairs, DSM North America
