This is the first in a series of monthly email messages to update you on IHD activities and events. These emails are part of an effort to improve internal communications as the Division continues to grow. The emails, as well as other planned feedback sessions, meetings, and events, respond to input we’ve received through the EAC annual survey and other channels asking for more frequent and regular updates. Please keep the feedback and input coming in, and we’ll keep responding!
IHD FY14 Strategy
The Division recently completed our IHD strategic planning exercise for FY14 and attach summary slides [company confidential]. We all have a role to play in successful implementation of our strategy, so please take a minute to consider how you can contribute. New Business Development
In July, IHD (in collaboration with ERD, SEP and IEG Divisions) was awarded a Millennium Challenge Corporation Blanket Purchase Agreement (similar to an IQC mechanism) to provide TA in areas of evaluation, finance, investment and trade, and economic analysis. We continue to pursue a variety of opportunities in both capture and proposal phases. This quarter we have reinvigorated our capture process, with a focus on Abt’s Global Priority bids (a list of strategic bids to which the company gives additional support and monitoring) and other Division priority opportunities. Please speak to your supervisor if you are interested to further contribute to IHD new business efforts.
Looking for Talent
We are actively recruiting for a number of positions in the U.S. and in the field, both on active projects and proposals. Please encourage qualified candidates across your networks to apply for jobs through the Abt website or forward their CVs to our international recruiters. IHD openings this month include: International Health Proposal Manager, HFG Global Health Technical Advisor (Sr Assoc), Malaria Strategic Lead (Prin Assoc), SHOPS Qualitative Research Specialist (Associate), and various COP and DCOP positions for current projects and bids. Lots of Conferences
IHD staff participated in the iHEA 9th World Congress on Health Economics in Sydney July 6-10, making 5 presentations during a pre-congress symposium on the private sector and presenting at total of 8 oral presentations and posters. Before the end of the year, IHD will participate in 10 conferences including a big splash at APHA where we have 11 presentations accepted. For more information, contact liz_nugent@abtassoc.com.
