Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to announce that Abt is a subcontractor on two consortia led by Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP and Axios International, Inc. that each won awards under the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Multi Award Technical Assistance IDIQ.  This IDIQ will serve as one of two vehicles for the provision of technical assistance to USAID, other USG agencies, partner country governments and private organizations in strengthening country supply systems and supporting strategic collaboration to improve the long-term availability of health commodities. Assistance will be provided across all health sectors currently supported by USAID, such as malaria, family planning, HIV/AIDS, TB, and maternal and child health.  The IDIQ ceiling is $500 million. (For your information, the other two contractors that received an award are Logistics Management Institute (LMI) and Chemonics International)

Abt’s role under each team will be to apply a systems approach to improve supply chain management, with a focus on health financing, governance, human resources and health information systems. This IDIQ is also expected to serve as a potential vehicle to provide commodity supply chain assistance in the context of health system strengthening programs. Some of the strong capabilities that Abt brought to the PWC and Axios bids were drawn from our work in Nigeria, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania, Zambia, and the HS2020, SHOPS and AIRS projects.
