Dear IHD Staff,

Interested in receiving additional internal and external technical information related to your work? Consider joining one or more of the IHD’s Communities of Excellence (CoEs) below.

What are CoEs?

CoEs provide a platform for the five technical segments and three cross-cutting technical working groups to share information and interact with interested staff. CoE members will receive internal and external technical resources and correspondence related to their area of interest via a listserv. CoEs also encourage participation from the CoE members, and will ask for new stories, technical resources and questions on a regular basis.

All of the CoEs established in FY2014 remain.  In addition, the Division has added two new CoEs to align with IHD’s reorganized technical subdivision (see Thierry’s attached e-mail for further explanation).

CoEs for the five technical segments:

• Health Systems Strengthening CoE (*NEW) (brings together the HMIS/eHealth, Governance, Health Finance, and HRH TWGs). Subsets of the HSS CoE:
• eHealth CoE
• Governance CoE
• Health Finance and Economics CoE
• HRH CoE
• Infectious Diseases CoE (*NEW) (brings together the HIV, TB, Malaria TWGs). Subsets of the Infectious Disease CoE:
• HIV CoE
• TB CoE
• Malaria CoE
• Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health CoE
• Family Planning/Reproductive Health CoE
• Chronic diseases CoE

CoEs for the three cross-cutting technical working groups:

• Behavior Change Communication CoE
• Service Delivery CoE
• Private Sector in Health CoE

Many of you are already members of one or more of IHD’s communities of excellence. Unless you request to be removed from a particular CoE, that membership will remain. If you would like to join a CoE or join additional CoEs, please let me know.

Note about previous memberships:

-          If you were previously enrolled in the HRH, eHealth, Governance, or Health Finance CoEs, you will remain a member, but you will also be added to the HSS CoE.

-          Similarly, if you were previously enrolled in the HIV, Malaria, or TB CoEs, you will remain a member, but you will also be added to the ID CoE.
