Dear colleagues,
It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of our cherished colleague and friend Kathleen Novak on Wednesday, June 25th. Her family is arranging a memorial service for her at a later date and we will share details once we have them.
Kathleen was a true friend and mentor to those she worked with, and we’ll all remember her sense of humor, laughter, and tinge of irreverence. As a Vice President and Portfolio Manager in IHD, she greatly impacted the lives of her teams in Bethesda and the field with her wisdom, grace under pressure, keen sense of perspective, and team spirit.
Over her 14-year career at Abt, Kathleen effectively managed projects in Peru, Central America, El Salvador, Mozambique, Jordan, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and Vietnam. She served as an Acting Division Vice President in IHD overseeing the Private Sector and Service Delivery Practices. Prior to becoming a Portfolio Manager, Kathleen was a valued member of our PHR and PHRplus teams, joining us initially as a short-term consultant and then becoming a full-time staff member and critical part of the project team.
