As part of our Talent Management Strategy, we are excited to announce the launch of two new initiatives: Career Profile and Career Development Planning (CDP)! We have heard you—we know that you would like enhanced career development opportunities. Both the Career Development Planning module and the Career Profile module include a suite of tools and resources to support your individual career growth at Abt.
Career Profile
The Career Profile is a tool that allows you to enter biographical information about your interests in regards to career and mobility. As you fill-in the various profile sections e.g., career aspirations, geographical mobility, leadership, and more, you will share insight into who you are beyond your resume and what your career aspirations are. When completed you’ll move onto the CDP module where you can work with your manager to develop a plan to reach your future goals.
Where to start: The information you provide will be key in several ongoing HR initiatives: Career Development, Internal Mobility, and Succession Planning. In the future, the data will be shared across systems with RepCap and AGI. We encourage you to participate and offer up to 30 minutes of charge time in order for you to complete your profile before the end of the fiscal year (March 27, 2015). Charge Code : 17488-3000
Steps to follow:
1. On AGI, click the Abt Talent, Learning, and Support (ATLAS) link under “Tools and Resources”
2. From the Home menu select “Employee Info”
3. From the Public Profile menu click to select “Career Profile”
Career Development Planning
Career Development Planning (CDP) is an employee-driven process through which you can assess your current skill set, determine what you want your future career to look like, and then create development goals that will help you achieve those objectives. To facilitate this process, we have created an online tool within ATLAS to provide a structure for each employee/supervisor to document career growth objectives and to track progress.
Where to start: A training video, Introduction to Competencies, is available for you to view in the ATLAS Learning Management System. This video will teach you about competencies, career development planning, and how they will come together to assist in your professional development. Charge time will be provided at the end of this training. In the next few weeks, you will see information about additional training opportunities that will give supervisors hands-on experience with competencies in a classroom setting.
Steps to follow:
1. On AGI, click the Abt Talent, Learning, and Support (ATLAS) link under “Tools and Resources”
2. From the Home menu select “Learning”
3. From your “My Learning Assignments” list, next to the Introduction to Competencies training, click “Start Course”.
Resources and Support
You will find the Quick Reference Guides for Career Profile and CDP on AGI on the ATLAS Resources page. Additional information and online resources are also located on AGI: Talent Management, Career Development Planning, and Lominger Competencies.
