Hi colleagues.

As you may have heard, the technical subdivision in International Health has recently been reorganized to take advantage of the opportunities offered by this new fiscal year.  The main purposes of the change are to offer a closer synergy with the Abt-wide market segments (see attached—for internal circulation only), to build on the learnings from the TWG experience in FY14, and to leverage economies of scale under a leaner budgetary environment.  In this spirit, the following five Technical Segments have been created:

- Health Systems Strengthening (brings together the HMIS/eHealth, Governance, Health Finance, and HRH TWGs)—led by Catherine Connor and Julie Doherty;
- Infectious diseases (brings together the HIV, TB, Malaria TWGs)—temporarily led by Nancy Nachbar and Mariandrea Chamorro;
- Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (continuation of the MCH TWG)—temporarily led by Carlos Cuellar and Lara Hensley;
- Family Planning/Reproductive Health (continuation of the FPRH TWG)—temporarily led by Caroline Quijada and Robin Keeley;

- Chronic diseases (continuation of the NCD TWG)—led by Elizabeth MacGregor-Skinner and Dasha Migunov.

These segments will be supported by three cross-cutting working groups:

-          Behavior Change Communication—led by Gael O’Sullivan and Caytie Decker;

-          Service Delivery—led by Kuhu Maitra and Ekpenyong Ekanem;

-          Private Sector in Health—led by Jeff Barnes and Soonie Choi.

Expect to hear soon from the above colleagues about these groups’ planned activities, to which we invite you to contribute through each technical segment’s Community of Excellence.  If you would like to sign up for any of these CoEs, please let me know directly.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Best,

Thierry
