Update to the Abt Library: New eBook Collection

A new collection of more than 200 eBooks has been added to the Abt library. Viewing these materials digitally will allow easier access to our resources for our colleagues located around the world.

This collection contains titles representing the diverse subject areas of our work, including:

·         Education

·         Economics

·         Environment

·         Food Security

·         Family Planning

·         Social Science

·         Technology

To access the eBook collection, go to the Abt Library page on AGI and navigate to eBooks.  Find a book by scanning through the available titles in each category, or searching for a topic/title through the search bar at the top of the widget. You must have a My EBSCOhost account to download books.  For more information on creating an account, and accessing the eBooks, review the reference guide attached.

If you are interested in topics or titles beyond this collection, please send your requests to Sarah Curran, Abt Librarian.

The eBooks are accessible in two ways: 1) accessing and reading them directly in your browser, or 2) downloading them and reading them offline, either on your computer or on a mobile device. To download books, you must have Adobe Digital Editions, a free downloadable program, installed on your computer or mobile device. This program is already available on your computer and has been tested and approved for use on all Abt computers.  A guide on how to access Adobe Digital Editions is attached.

The eBooks are available to only one person at a time. Books are “checked out” for a maximum of three weeks. At the end of this time, a book is automatically “returned.” If you are on the waitlist, you will be notified that the title you requested is available to view or download in the portal.
