It is nearing that time again when we invest in the Performance Review Evaluation Plan (PREP).  The upcoming annual PREP is an opportunity to articulate performance expectations, provide and receive constructive feedback and leverage employee talents.  

We heard your feedback and know there were challenges with last year’s PREP.  The Human Resources Platform Initiative will give us a new PREP system, but not until PREP 2014.  This year, working within the limits of our current system and being guided by your input, improvements are being made to both the form and the process.  It will not be perfect, but it will be better.

Here are a few of the improvements we are making to enhance your experience for PREP 2013:

• The amount of mandatory comments has been reduced by more than 50% so you can focus on providing meaningful input.
• The workflow has been streamlined so there are fewer steps to complete the process.
• Accessibility to the system has been improved so documents can be viewed and printed more easily.
• Training and support materials have been tailored to provide you with the critical information needed to complete the PREP.

PREP 2013 will open on March 25 for secondary reviews.  Over the next few weeks, please start thinking about who your secondary reviewers will be.  This year the PREP cycle will close on May 10.
