Dear IHD field colleagues.
As you know, the International Health Division is organizing its technical work around eight Technical Segments and Cross-Cutting Technical Working Groups. These are:
Tech Segments:
- Health Systems Strengthening (covers HMIS/eHealth, governance, health finance, and HRH)—led by Catherine Connor and Julie Doherty;
- Infectious Diseases (covers HIV, TB, and malaria)—led by Cathy Thompson and Katherine Brouhard;
- Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health—led by Carlos Cuellar and Lara Hensley;
- Family Planning/Reproductive Health—led by Caroline Quijada and Robin Keeley;
- Chronic Diseases—led by Elizabeth MacGregor-Skinner and Dasha Migunov.
Cross-Cutting Technical Working Groups:
- Behavior Change Communication—led by Gael O’Sullivan and Caytie Decker;
- Service Delivery—led by Kuhu Maitra and Ekpenyong Ekanem;
- Private Sector in Health—led by Jeff Barnes and Soonie Choi.
Each of these groups is tasked with organizing technical support to projects, supporting new business development, and generating reputational capital. Their main channel to actively engage colleagues in these three activities is their respective Community of Excellence (CoE), a group of field and HO colleagues active and/or interested in the above technical areas. The CoEs are where the technical action is—where you hear and share about projects, publications, opportunities—and they will increasingly serve as the conduit for any technical information from IHD management. So we want to make sure that all IHD colleagues have an opportunity to join them.
Many of you are already members of one or more CoEs. If, however, you work in any of the areas listed above but haven’t yet joined its CoE, we hope that you will consider doing so. Please send a note to Elizabeth, cc’ed here, indicating which CoE(s) you would like to join, and she will make sure your name is added to the respective list(s). If you are interested in any of the subtopics under the HSS and ID Tech Segments, please indicate this as well, and you will also be added to these lists (and to the relevant Segment list if you’re not already on it).
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks.
Thierry
