Hello again all.
As you know, the production and dissemination of reputational capital is a top priority for Abt and for our division. One of the main avenues to advance our rep cap objectives is presentation of our work at conferences. Last year, IHD staff gave more than 100 presentations at conferences all around the world. We want to continue to encourage more presentations at conferences, so here are a few suggestions and requests related to this:
- If you are not sure that your abstract is a good match for a specific conference, or if you would like technical feedback on it, please contact the relevant IHD Technical Segment—please see my earlier email for a list of the segments and who to contact.
- Before you submit an abstract, check with your CoP, Portfolio Manager or Project Director that your project will probably be able to cover the cost of your registration, participation, travel and per diem if the abstract is accepted.
- Please always inform Liz Nugent and Elizabeth Magnusson (cc’ed here) when you submit an abstract—and let them know about the result of your submission when you hear back from the organizers. This helps us track participation at conferences, and report to management and your colleagues on your presentations.
