Dear Colleagues,

The D&D Review Committee (Jacob Klerman, Laura Peck, Bill Rhodes) met in February to review proposals for funding beginning April 2013.  They received 24 proposals, and have funds to support eight of them.  They are:

·         Catherine Darrow, SEP

·         Chia-Lin Ho, USH

·         Ben Johns, IHD

·         James Palardy, ERD

·         Matthew Ranson, ERD

·         Alison Sexton, USH

·         Jorge Ugaz, IHD

·         Benjamin Woodman, IHD

There will be another competition in August 2013 for funding October 2013.  Many of the proposals not funded at this round have been encouraged to make a presentation at JASG/Journal Author Support Group and to resubmit later. 

JASG meets twice a week for the presentation of papers—D&D awardees and others.  Those wishing to be added to the distribution list for JASG should contact Lorraine Murphy.  Those wishing to give a presentation at JASG, should contact Jacob Klerman.  Most otherwise unfunded papers presented at JASG can receive a JASG Mini-Grant of two days for the lead author (or to be shared among co-authors) and a day and a half for production support, if needed.  Those receiving a “revise and resubmit” from a journal (or a rejection, with intention to submit elsewhere) are encouraged to present the comments received and to discuss how to respond and can receive a JASG Mini-Grant for doing so. 

I want to thank the Review Committee for a careful and prompt review and the DVPs for encouraging so many strong proposals from staff.
