Dear Colleagues,
Thank you so much for your support of our 4 Weeks of Giving initiative that ran from November 19th-December 14th. In that short time, staff from our four U.S. offices and many of our international sites donated, volunteered and clicked to give!
Together we:
· Donated 1,315 units of food—Things like peanut butter, noodles, soups and even juice boxes, to organizations in our own communities (Cambridge – Rosie’s Place; Bethesda – Manna Food Center; Durham -- Durham Rescue Mission ; and Atlanta – Atlanta Food Bank).
· Volunteered nearly 70 hours—Helping to pack and deliver the food, and to support the Trot for Hunger in Bethesda and Rosie’s Place in Cambridge.
· Clicked more than 600 times to give food through organizations such as Mercy Corps, Millennium Promise and Feeding America.
· Continued our annual giving to Harmony Hills and Toys for Tots!
It was a great team effort, and special thanks goes to our leaders and coordinators from across the U.S. offices:
Trish Riviere – in Bethesda
Tessa Cappuccio – in Cambridge
Tricia Rowan – in Durham
Cathy Houlihan and Pat Shifflet – in Atlanta
The need is real and deep. Each month, in all of the communities where we work and live, there are thousands of people relying on emergency food programs to feed their families. We learned that in Montgomery County, Manna Food Center—to which we donated 900lbs of food this year--actually gives out 15,000lbs of food daily.
We received feedback about the importance of continuing these company-wide efforts from many of you, and we plan to do so! We welcome suggestions on future food drives or other ways we can improve the quality of life in our communities. Feel free to email one of our coordinators or me at victoria_child@abtassoc.com
Together, we did make a difference.
Thank you again.
Victoria
