Surveys: Some Perspectives for Clients
Jacob Klerman, Presenter
** The Presentation is available online, at the Methods Center Website, on the Surveys: Some Perspectives for Clients page. Please visit the page to print a copy, and use the comment space for discussion. **
Jacob Klerman was asked by the Department of Labor to give a series of talks on practical issues in designing and fielding surveys for policy analysis. He is sharing them with the Abt community.
The talk is focused on practical “client perspectives” and is likely to be of interest to those working with clients on designing and fielding surveys.
Topics covered include: research goals, survey design (survey content, sampling frame, sample design, and sample size), permissions (IRB and OMB), survey fielding (field methods, incentives, response rates), and survey analysis.
Jacob Klerman is a Principal Associate, Abt Senior Fellow, and Co-Director of the Evaluation Methods Center. These talks are (in part) based on contract work with the Department of Labor’s Chief Evaluation Office on the (now completed) Family and Medical Leave Surveys and the (awaiting OMB Clearance) Worker Misclassification Survey.
** The Presentation is available online, at the Methods Center Website, on the Surveys: Some Perspectives for Clients page. Please plan to print it if you’d like a copy for the course. **
