Version Control and Reproducibility

This presentation will introduce the basics of version control systems. These systems have proven their usefulness to programmers since their first introduction in 1972. Yet to this date they are generally underutilized.

 

This presentation will focus on basic usage, some more recent conceptual developments in approaching version control , and the utility  version control brings to projects at large, not just to the programmers using them. In addition to technical aspects we will discuss issues of due diligence, team coordination, quality assurance, and reproducibility.
