Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to announce another global priority bid win.

USH Wins Nursing Home Compare Recompete with the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS)

cid:image003.jpg@01CFBD42.8B051110The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has awarded Abt a four-year MIDS task order contract—Developing Quality Ratings Systems—a recompete building on our current work for the Improving Nursing Home Compare/Improving the Five-Star Quality Rating System project. This contract begins on September 1, 2014 and is a single-award task order with a total value including option years of $5.8 million.

Under this contract, Abt will continue to assist CMS in the development of new nursing home quality measures, preparation of the annual Nursing Home Data Compendium, user testing of the Nursing Home Compare website, and enhancing the rating methodology.  We will continue to support CMS in public reporting of the components of its current quality rating system for nursing facilities—the Five-Star Quality Rating System—through monthly processing of large datasets, generation of provider preview reports, and coordination with other CMS contractors.

Abt’s demonstrated record of on-time delivery of high-quality products for this project was a key win theme that was emphasized in the proposal.  We noted the innovative solutions that Abt has for addressing current CMS research priorities. We also emphasized Abt’s long history of close collaboration with CMS on this and other nursing home projects.

In addition to collaborating with Abt SRBI, our subcontracting partners include the Bentley User Experience Center, Qualidigm, and Telligen, along with expert consultant Nicholas Castle. According to Chris Spera, Division Vice President of the U.S. Health Division, “Abt is pleased to be working with CMS on the next generation of this flagship Five-Star Quality Rating system.  CMS has come back to Abt based on our team’s success on the earlier contract in terms of our technical leadership, responsiveness, enthusiasm, and client-focus.”

Congratulations to the entire proposal team including technical leads Allison Muma and Alan White, business volume manager Alrick Edwards, FCA Ofelia Dockery, and Matt Allain, GBDU proposal manager.  Christianna Williams and Louise Hadden also both contributed to the technical proposal.

Best Regards,

Jay
